The World Lost a Beautiful Soul

World renowned poet and activist Andrea Gibson left this Earth in July. They were known for their work involving gender norms, politics, social justice, life, and mortality. Her spoken word performances are legendary.

Appointed Poet Laureate of Colorado for 2023, her vulnerability drew me into her work. Like many others, I felt less alone because of her writing.
